The root of the word 'fiction' comes from the idea of shaping. I worked with Maggie McKernan for ten years as my publisher and editor. She helped guide and shape five books of mine: hammering, nailing, scaffolding, and finally helping to put the structure in place. I can't think of anyone finer to bring together all the elements of writing. There is an enormous amount of trust and dedication that must be found in order to bring the writer's work into the marketplace. Maggie is the perfect person for that.
